LUXURY: Royal Suite at the Burj Al Arab |
The shape of the structure is designed to mimic the sail of a ship.
Sometimes incorrectly referred to as "the world's only seven-Star hotel", its star rating has been often debated.
But what nobody that has been there seems to doubt is that the Burj is over-the-top unashamed luxury, above all else.
Upon arrival a chauffeur `picks you up at the airport and delivers you to the doors of the hotel in a Rolls Royce. Rooms have their own butlers and everything around the impressive central water fountain seems drenched in gold.
I won the opportunity to stay at the Burj for beating target at a previous job in the UK because although I qualified, I was promoted and the MD thought it would not look good if the boss got an all-expenses trip to Dubai. My colleague went instead, and quite literally all I got was a couple of pencils (one of which which I still have today) and endless stories about just how great it was.
Have a look at this short video below about the Burj, truly STUNNING!
